Everyone eventually draws Alice. This was an experimental series, testing my papermaking. The playing card and the white paper on the right were all part of the papermaking process.

I wanted to see if I could use paper as a medium of illustration itself allowing the accidental effects that are part of the technique to craft my final images. Gouache and faux leading finished the details.

Cornish Pixie - 150k
Freehand drawing. Shapes first created by dropping ink from a height onto white paper, then blowing the ink around the page with a straw. Coloured pencils and acrylics 'found' the image of the pixie.
